Help!  -  How do I install my fonts???

#1

All of the fonts on this site are in .zip format.   Now you need a program to UNzip these files, which will allow you to use the fonts you get from this site.  Simply go Winzip's web site at http://www.winzip.com and get the trial version. (Then buy it)

Winzip.com

#2

Now, find the font you wish to download and save it to your desktop as shown. ( I save it to my desktop, because it is easy to find and delete when I am ready to. :) )

Save On Desktop....

Note: The Desktop directory is in c:\Windows\Destkop (C:\ being your primary hard drive)

#3

Okay, now go to your desktop in Windows and RIGHT click on that icon. (YOU MUST HAVE WINZIP INSTALLED FOR THIS) click "Extract to..." as the diagram shows below.

Desktop Screen

#4

Now, depending on HOW you have your Winzip setup...either Winzip Wizard, or Winzip Classic...simply put the extraction directory to "c:\windows\fonts" (C:\being your primary drive)

***  Walla! You have yourself a brand new font! :-)  Go into a program and test it out! For instance...Notepad or Word Pad. (default software that comes with Windows 3.1+)

I have a MAC! Help!

Note: For a MAC based system you need ZipIt to decompress these IBM compatible zip files.

#1

Put the font ZIP file you just downloaded into some kind of folder where you can find it quickly and easily.

#2

Find ZipIt and open the program.

#3

Open the ZIP file, or simply find the file you downloaded and drag it over to the ZipIt icon.

#4

From the Edit Menu select the option "Select All"

#5

Now Simple Command+e or go to the Zip menu and click Extract

#6

Now simply Save All..

That wasn't so hard now was it? :-)

Converting your Fonts to MAC/TT-Converter

This will only convert between the font types, not formats.   It will convert to and from PC to Mac TrueType and from PC to Mac PostScript.

#1

Load up TT-Converter and open the .ttf file you would like to convert.

#2

Watch for the dialog box to appear...

#3

The "Save Converted Font As" box will appear...Type in the font's location if it doesn't already have it in there.

#4

Click on the "Customize Font" - Another box will appear...

#5

Now enter the font name into the box...(Step 3)

#6

Now click "OK"

#7

Now click Save! Walla! :-)

Installing These New Fonts to Your MAC

Simply drag the fonts into your MAC system directory and click OK.

Note: DO NOT put these fonts anywhere except the fonts system directory...It will not read the fonts correctly if you do.  You may to restart your MAC for some of these fonts to work.
